I Had One Leftover Test Under My Sink

  1. Does that mean you are pregnant? I am so stupid about reading these tests! I think you are pregnant! Tell me it's so!

  2. Amy, I wondered if you would cave. :)

Kelly, that's a positive test! (The decoder key is to the left of the test window.)

    Hooray!

  3. Yes, it's positive, Kelly.

I totally caved. I was fine until last night. That's when I rummaged around under my sink to see if I had any leftover tests. Once I knew one was there, I couldn't resist using it. I figured, if it was negative, it meant exactly nothing (since it is technically too early), but if it was positive, it mean everything.

But I can't get too excited. I've been here six times before and only have one child to show for it. I THINK it will be different this time, but it's almost impossible to feel hopeful after having been burned so many times. Give me six more weeks and two good ultrasounds.

  4. I've read on other blogs that IVP patients can get a false-positive pregnancy test for a few days (I *think*) because of the trigger shot - but that would be for women using their own eggs. Were you on any hormones that might make for a false positive? I hope not, because that is one fabulously positive pregnancy test!

  5. Stephanie, I'm not 100% sure, but I did think about the trigger shot, and you're right - it doesn't apply to me. I'm taking estrogen and progesterone only right now and as far as I know, those are completely different than hcg and would not mimic it. My blood test on Wednesday will just be the standard beta-hcg test.
