After my dad fixed the inner workings of three out of our four toilets, we got motivated to replace the seats, too. Three were chipped and disgusting just like this one:
The fourth, in the powder room on the main level, was wood, which I think is wrong on so many levels:
To replace them, we got 2 of these awesome kids' seats:
The smaller seat folds up into the lid and is held there by a magnet. We put one of these in the powder room and one in Sam's bathroom. Hopefully she'll start using them soon. (Arg!)
Then for the other 2, we got the "Whisper Close" seats. Check it out:
It may seem like a gimmick, but we always keep the lids shut to keep the animals out, and in the middle of the night that small luxury is welcome, indeed. It's a Little Thing.
Where did you get those kid seats? That's great, and I'm sure my kids would appreciate it. I've seen kid seats that you can put on with existing toilet seats, but never an integrated one like that.
ReplyDeleteStephanie: We bought the integrated kid seat/toilet seat at The Home Depot. It was just one of the numerous toilet seat choices hanging on the wall in the back of the store.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We have the whisper close seats, too. They're great!
ReplyDeleteThe parenthetical "Arg!" made me smile. We started "training" our (now) 34-month-old right around christmas time... he's got #1 down reasonably well, with only the occasional accident, but still has only gone #2 on the toilet/potty once... and that was in February. Arg!!! If anyone reading this knows the secret to convincing a toddler to poop on the toilet/potty, please -- dear god, please -- share your insight.
ReplyDeleteWe're planning to remodel the bathroom next to the kids' rooms in the next year or so, and I'm definitely going to remember and copy those cool toilet seats with the incorporated kid seat. Very nice.
